The Barbara Lewis King Scholarship Foundation aims to invest in the future of individuals by offering one-time scholarships to graduating Georgia high school students. Additionally, the foundation strives to foster civic responsibility and leadership skills in applicants by encouraging community service, academic dedication, and creative expression.

Eligibility Requirements
Student (Applicant) must:
1.This application is for Georgia residents, graduating high school seniors accepted to a college/university, community college, or technical school for the fall 2026 semester.
2. Provide proof of graduation and acceptance to a college, university, community college, or technical school for the fall 2026 semester.
3. Demonstrate a commitment to academics with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and leadership skills or other notable achievements.
4. Provide a record of your community service within the past 4 years, including volunteer work at your school, church, or within the community. The leader or director of the organization where you volunteered must document your service in a letter on official letterhead with their signature.
5. This scholarship is available to Georgia residents only, including those who have attended a Georgia high school or an approved Georgia homeschool program during their junior and senior years.
6. Please complete the application and apply online. Please ensure the application is completed and submitted by the deadline: Friday, May 1, 2026, at 4:00 PM, EDT (NO EXCEPTIONS). As part of the application, you must include a brief essay, a completed questionnaire form, an official school transcript, two written recommendations from a school official and one recommendation from a community leader who knows you well with signature on official letterhead.
The Scholarship Procedure
Scholarships will be awarded as one-time monetary grants, funded by the Barbara Lewis King Scholarship Foundation, Inc., through voluntary contributions and fundraising efforts. Finalists will be scheduled for an interview with the Foundation’s Board. Scholarship recipients will be notified by phone and email. The number and amount of scholarships awarded will depend on the number of applicants, their needs, and the availability of funds. Please note that all awards are one-time only and are non-renewable.
