- We created the 2025 Program Booklet Journal, themed “Bound for Greatness,” which generated $30,000 in support of our organization.

- Through the success of our 2025 Champions Program, we raised $12,618 to support our mission.

- Since our inception, the Barbara Lewis King Scholarship Foundation has proudly awarded scholarships to 383 students, totaling $509,166, helping students pursue higher education.

- In 2025, we donated $1,054 (Nobel Level) to Hillside International Truth Center, Inc. as Hillside celebrated its 54th Anniversary.

- We hosted a successful Scholarship Sunday on June 8, 2025, during which 16 students were awarded scholarships of $2,500 each, totaling $40,000. A reception followed the ceremony to celebrate the students and their accomplishments alongside their parents and families. On that day, Hillside International Truth Center, Inc. donated $5,000 to the Foundation, for which we are truly grateful.

- In August, the Foundation awarded five Book Scholarships of $500 each to college students, totaling $2,500.

- The Foundation hosted four College Preparatory Workshops, offered at no cost to students and their parents. These virtual workshops were presented in August, September, and October. Established in 2017, the workshops were created in response to the need many students have for guidance on preparing for and navigating the transition to college. Topics included College Entrance Exams, Writing Winning College Essays, Scholarship Planning Made Simple, and Mastering the College Application Process.

- Through the efforts of our exceptional 2025 College Workshop Series Marketing Team, we reached 410 confirmed attendees, an increase from 318 attendees in 2024. We are very proud of this outreach.

- As part of our long -term planning, the foundation maintains an endowment fund to support the future of our scholarship program. In 2025, we again contributed to the endowment, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability, responsible stewardship and continued support for students in the years to come.

- Our Board of Directors made generous financial and in-kind donations to the Foundation throughout 2025.

- We shared updated membership packages with those desiring to be part of our team. This year, we revised and upgraded our materials to ensure consistency and to strengthen our recruitment efforts. We also now have a solid training and onboarding manual in place.

- We welcomed Rev. Badia Cooper to our team. She brings a wealth of knowledge, especially in the area of grant writing.

- On Saturday, October 25, 2025, we hosted and coordinated our third major planning meeting, allowing us to fully prepare for 2026. We are truly ahead of the game as we finalized our calendar of events and programs, updated our 2026 scholarship packets and mission statement, and continued work on strategic initiatives including Marketing, Membership, Grant and Fundraising, Website Administration, Social Media, and planning for our 30th Anniversary.
