"My Name is Morgan Lovingood. I am a graduate of Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. I am a Barbara Lewis King Scholarship recipient. Receiving this scholarship was a blessing to me. It wasn’t just money but confirmation that I have the potential for a bright future in our society. This scholarship wasn’t the end but the beginning of my career as a social worker for the state of Georgia." |

I thank the foundation for their hard work and continued dedication to supporting students financially as they seek higher education, and I thank Dr. Barbara for being the catalyst behind the work that’s being done. The physical form of these scholarships may be money, but the real substance of them is hope, faith and determination." |
"My name is Knitikia Gross, and I was truly honored to receive Dr. Barbara King’s educational scholarship in 2005. Dr. King’s scholarship allowed me to obtain an AA from Seattle Central Community College. After obtaining my AA, I continued my educational career at Antioch University where I obtained a BA in human services and a MA in mental health counseling in 2011. Today, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion to work alongside people struggling with mental health and addiction issues. I am forever grateful and appreciative for the generous scholarship that was awarded to me." |
"Here is a list on my accomplishments since graduating college as a 2014 Barbara Lewis King Scholarship recipient."

"My name is Mikayla Boyd and since receiving the scholarship I have been attending The University of Arizona in Tucson. I have become a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars and was offered two positions at the Think Tank, which is the tutoring program for the university. I work as an Academic Skills Tutor, so I help students that visit the Think Tank looking for advice on a personal level and academic level and I am also a Schedule for Success Mentor, so I help freshman that have been placed in a specific math class with their organization and different study strategies to insure that they are able to succeed not only in that math class but also at the university. Without the BLK scholarship I would not have been able to attend The University of Arizona and would not have been able to have the opportunities and experiences that I have been fortunate enough to have." |
