2018 BLKSF “Magic of Mardi Gras”

The 2018 scholarship fundraiser was a smashing success.   The attendees were dressed in their stunning Mardi Gras outfits including masks and umbrellas. They enjoyed a delicious New Orleans style dinner. There was dancing to the dynamic music of the 911 Band. Saxophonists Avery Dixon along with the Second Line Truth dancers and the Stilt Walker Melvin Bivens lead the Mardi Gras Parade.  Everyone joined in the parade and celebrated the “Magic of Mardi Gras.”

The love and financial support shown for the foundation was overflowing.  A big “THANK YOU” to everyone.

2017 BLKSF 20th Anniversary Celebration

The 2017 scholarship foundation 20^th anniversary celebration was an amazing event.  Over 400 people attended the event in the support of the foundation. Howard Hewitt was the featured entertainer, and “wowed” the audience with his silky smooth soulful voice. Songtress Chandri Morton open the event with her dynamic voice, and the 911 Band kept the guests dancing. The love and financial support shown for the foundation surpassed the expectations of the fundraising committee.
